Bill Hancock
has devoted his entire career to appellate law, and represents clients in civil appeals in which millions of dollars and significant projects are at stake. He spent 16 years as a Law Clerk and Senior Staff Attorney in the First and Sixth Appellate Districts of the California Court of Appeal, where he worked with a range of judges and analyzed hundreds of appeals under state law and procedure. He was also a founding staff member of the First District Appellate Project in San Francisco.

After his tenure with the court, Bill became of counsel to the appellate firm Horvitz & Levy. He opened his own appellate practice, which became Eisenberg & Hancock, in 2006. Bill has been selected a Northern California "Super Lawyer" in the field of appellate law since 2009, and was chosen for the 2010, 2011, and 2012 editions of "Best Lawyers in America" in appellate law. He is an adjunct professor at Hastings College of the Law, where he teaches California Appellate Procedure.

Bill received his J.D. from Hastings and graduated Order of the Coif and a member of the Thurston Society. He was also an Articles Editor for the Hastings International and Comparative Law Review. He has his bachelor's degree, with honors, from the University of California at Santa Cruz.
